This book is originally a western book, called in English “How Rabbit Stole Fire” by Joanna Troughton.  (Possibly a British author?)  It dates from 1979.  It was taken from a North American Indian folk tale.

The Japanese title is “Ten no Hi o Nusunda Usagi.”

Literally:  The Rabbit who Stole Heaven’s Fire.”

Ten=Heaven

Hi=Fire

Nusumu=Stole (Nusunda=Stole)

Usagi=Rabbit

Atop a mountain, people live with fire.  Rabbit goes, and using his cunning, steals it and takes it back to the other animals.
