Today’s book is called “Hoity the Fox.”  (Kitsune no Hoitei)

This is originally a Sri Lankan book by Sri Lankan writer and illustrator Sybil Wettasinghe.

A news article about her can be found here.

This book is about a fox who steals clothes from clotheslines and dresses up as a woman.  She then pretends to be a traveler to get food from the local women. However, the see her tail and end up teasing her about this.

This is the first book in the lineup by a Sri Lankan author, so that’s interesting for me.  I like reading a book by a person from that actual country, rather than by a westerner (or Japanese) author who doesn’t really know the country firsthand.

The book can be found here.
