I’d seen this book in the library before, and I loved it the moment I set eyes on it.

It’s called “Ojiichan no Ojiichan no Ojiichan no Ojiichan.”  (Grandpa’s Grandpa’s Grandpa’s Grandpa)

First we see the boy’s dad, then his grandfather. He says, “What was your father like?” And we see his great-grandfather.  Then his great-great-grandfather.  It skips a few generations, but goes back in time to great-great-great-great-great grandfather, and so on…..all the way to the caveman….and more!

The illustrations really tell the story in the book. They are marvelous.  You can see the clothing change, the housing change, and so on as it goes back in time.

I think there needs to be a sequel with grandmas!
