I saw these books.  And so of course I took a photo.

In America, we have books with Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin on the cover. In Japan, they have famous Japanese people, of course!  I am woefully ignorant about Japanese history, so I had to research these two fellows.

On left:  Shototoku Taishi–He was born in 574 A.D.  He was a prince who spread Buddhism in Japan. (Prior to this period, it was met with resistance in Japan.)

On right:  Miyamoto no Yoritomo–He was born in 1147 A.D.  He was Japan’s first Shogun.

Doesn’t this look cool?  I didn’t buy it though.  It comes in different parts and you piece it together, so a little low quality.  Plus, I must refrain from buying every single cute map I see!
