Starbucks changed over to their Sakura Cherry Blossom drink, and I have lived in Japan such a long time that I thought, “Huh. Must be spring. There are bringing out the cherry blossom stuff.”
Yes, it is now Yayoi. (That means “March”. The old-fashioned way.)
The month of plum blossoms:
Sakura beer! (The can is a sakura design, but the contents are not Sakura flavored.)
Sakura coffee! In pink. I think this is actually sakura flavored.
Sakura ice cream!
Sakura green tea! (Just the bottle, the contents are not sakura flavored.)
Manholes and grates often have interesting designs in Japan.
But as you can see…no cherry blossoms yet!
It’s still chilly in Fukushima City. Yesterday the weather was quite blustery.
Spring into action, Spring!
This is a very good explanation of the months in Japanese, both modern and old.
