This year lovely Tokyo Station is celebrating its 101st birthday.
This is the Maruzen bookstore next to Tokyo Station. I went there looking for Japanese textbooks with essays. They had more to choose from than in Sendai City Maruzen. I ended up getting one with newspaper articles in it.
One thing I realized about some of the books is that the print is too small. I’m getting older, and I just can’t read the tiny furigana easily. (The furigana is tiny print next to the kanji that aids reading comprehension.)
Inside the station, looking up.
The neighborhood around the station.
Inside the station was a very busy shopping area. High end merchandise. This is a decoration in the eating area of the shopping area. Classy!
