First in Tokyo, we went to what we fondly refer to as the “Cat Museum.” It is the Asakura Museum of Sculpture. When we walked in, the room was filled with nude statues, and I asked my husband, “Why do we call this the Cat Museum again?” It turns out that there is another room devoted to cat statues. This is the website for the museum: http://www.taitocity.net/taito/asakura/english/index.html

After the museum, we shopped in the surrounding neighborhood. It is such a charming area, and decorated with cats! So I guess if you don’t like cats, stay away, but we all like kitties in our family so it was fun.
