In Japan, candy canes are only sold at one store in our area, that I am aware of. And they are so expensive that I never buy them. So when I was in the States I snapped them up!
The traditional candy canes were 99 cents. They new-fangled ones were two bucks. Cheap! Cheap! Cheap! I even bought them before Christmas–though I knew the price would decrease on December 26. I couldn’t risk them being sold out!
I bought them to snack on here in Japan and as presents for people. They really seemed to like them. What is totally normal in America is exotic here in Japan!
